Big Events

First Grader @ First Kids is an opportunity to introduce upcoming 1st graders to First Kids ministry. Upcoming 1st Graders and their parents will meet the First Kids staff, hear about all the opportunities in First Kids, and take a tour of the First Kids ministry suite. On their tour, boys and girls will be shown the location of their new LBS classroom and meet their new 1st Grade LBS teachers. Watch for this celebration to be scheduled just before promotion Sunday.

First Grade Bible Presentation. At this Milestone event, kids will be given the most important book they will ever receive, God’s Word, the Bible. Pastor Gregg will join this celebration and present each child his or her new Bible.

Family Night @ Typhoon Texas is the first event of the summer. This night is packed full of fun and excitement. Make plans to bring your family and enjoy fun and fellowship with your church family.

Fifth Grade Launch is a series of summer events and activities to help transition 5th graders from First Kid’s ministry to middle school ministry in The Hub.

Promotion Sunday is the day our church chooses to promote kids and students to the next grade. Watch for this special Sunday in late summer/early fall.

Preteen Camp happens each summer as entering 4th & 5th graders trek off to a fun-filled week of summer camp. During this week kids build life-long friendship while being challenged to go deeper in their spiritual walk. First Kids partners with Kids Camp at Student Life (a Southern Baptist resource provided by LifeWay Christian Resources) for Preteen Camp.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is one of the most exciting weeks of the year. VBS is free and open to kids entering 1st-6th grade – whether HFBC is your church home or not! Kids will gather each day from 9:00-12:30 for a time of worship, Bible study, games, and a whole lot of fun."

Passport 2 Purity is there to assist you in building heart-to-heart communication with your preteen while laying a foundation of purity that will prepare them for the turbulent years ahead. Through the shared listening experience, object lessons and guided conversations of a Passport 2 Purity weekend getaway, you can set your son or daughter on a journey of moral integrity—and strengthen the bond between you. Join us us for a luncheon where you can have fellowship with other parents in the same stage of life and receive resources to aid you and your child's growth in purity.
